Justin –
I received my Ranger Extreme very promptly from this site. Being a costly product I was very concerned about the sizing, I already owned a standard Ranger which I was lucky to get brand new but from some old stock in a nice blue and red plaid. I wasn’t sure if the liner on the Extreme would affect the fit and having a muscular chest of 46” the size chart suggested an XXL. As I will only be wearing a thin merino sweater underneath at the most I decided to stick with the XL the same as my other. The shirt fits me exactly as I wanted and the liner somehow makes it feel like a more solid garment. I wore it for the first time yesterday and the temperature was 6 degrees and raining hard. Underneath I had a very light poly base layer and although not a long walk I remained nice and warm and arrived home with a dry base layer. I was close to buying a wool shirt from a trendy Swedish company till I found they were only about 20% wool !
I’m so glad I paid a little extra for this product as it’s already my favourite item of outdoor clothing, I’m sure with a light merino sweater or heavy base layer you would be comfortable out and about when the temperature drops to zero or under.
