The brushtail Possum was introduced to New Zealand in 1837, it is a natural predator and an ecological threat. Each night possums eat over 21,000 tons of native vegetation. The commercial use of possum fur fibre is encouraged by conservation groups and plays an important role in the protection of New Zealand’s native fuana, flora and wildlife.

Possum Merino knitwear is very easy care. It is naturally odour resistant so requires less washing, which is kinder on you, and the environment.

I received the Ecowool Possum/Merlino Trekking socks (2 pair) in the mail today. They are WONDERFUL socks! I now have perhaps 10 pairs and I wear them frequently. They are my favorites! I am 73 yrs young and hike 6-7 days a week, between 8,000 and 14,000 steps a day.
