Product Information
Ecowool sheepskin rugs are easy care and regular brushing, vacuuming and shaking helps restore the pile and keep them free from dust.
The leather side can be easily damaged by incorrect washing, therefore it is important to follow the instructions provided.
To clean, spot cleaning or hand cleaning is always best. When hand cleaning use a small amount of water and wool-wash. Lightly sponge over the wool side only focusing on rubbing through the wool and not the skin underneath. Start in the middle and sponge out to the edges. Brush to restore pile and dry slowly in the shade. Do not let the sheepskin dry out too fast, it is best to leave a small amount of moisture in the skin.
Once dry give the sheepskin a good shake and another brushing with a pet brush.
You may notice a “new leather” smell when receiving a new sheepskin or sheepskin product. This is not a harmful smell and will naturally disperse with time. The rug does not need to be washed, but can benefit from a good shake and an airing. We recommend airing your rug if required in an open space out of direct sunlight, as wool does filter odours from the environment.
Avoid getting moisture on footwear as this can stain. If footwear does need cleaning it is best spot cleaned, using a small amount of liquid and a cloth.
Our Ecowool sheepskin slippers feature a soft suede sole designed specifically for indoor comfort—perfect for slipping on the moment you walk through the door. While we'd love to offer a hard sole option, we haven't yet found a sustainable solution that meets our standards. For now, these slippers are your ideal cosy house shoe companion!
The breathable nature of the 100% natural fibers used in all of our knitwear mean they can be washed much less frequently. A garments carbon emissions can be reduced by over 20% through thoughtful washing, drying and care.
We recommend to air your knitwear out by laying flat on a bed or towel overnight to dispel any lingering odours. This will keep them feeling fresh between washes. You can also spot treat small stains as a way of limiting the amount of washing. When the time comes to wash your knits, we recommend washing by hand in cold water with a gentle wool approved soap.
Rinse and gently squeeze out the water before rolling the knit in a clean towel to absorb excess water. It is best not to twist or wring excess water from the knit. Lay the garment flat to dry in an airy space, out of direct sunlight.
You can remove any wrinkles by steam ironing on a delicate setting. Do not iron over any leather trims.
