Possum - the world's only eco fur

The Brushtail Possum was introduced into New Zealand from Australia in 1837. This attractive marsupial has thrived in the native forests and temperate climate of New Zealand. With no natural predators the possum population has exploded to the point where it is now destroying New Zealand's unique forests, thereby the habitat of our unique native wildlife, including our national symbol the Kiwi. Although the Department of Conservation has undertaken large scale eradication programs, the best long term control of numbers is the commercialisation of the possum. The unique properties of the fur have seen it being made into all sorts of luxurious products, from cushions to bedspreads. The fibre can also be blended with wool to make a unique yarn with the qualities of cashmere.

I just wanted to send a quick note to let you know that I received my sheepskin that I ordered this past week and I was overjoyed!!!!!
