Swanndri's reputation is built on the foundation of solid, strong, tough performance wear. Natural fabric is woven to exact specification and then treated to provide the famous water-repellent properties. Swanndri outdoor clothing traces its origins back to 1913 and Taranaki tailor, William Broome. Mr. Broome started 'dunken' woollen garments in a secret formula to waterproof them and a legend was born. The work shirt, made from one hundred percent pure New Zealand wool was fabled for its durability and practicality and quickly became the choice of pioneering New Zealanders. Its unsurpassed fabric keeping them warm and dry in the winter and cool in the summer.To this day the original design remains unchanged and is as relevant to today's New Zealanders as it was almost a century ago. Swanndri use the finest New Zealand wools to weave a fabric more durable and hard wearing than any competitor, anywhere in the world, has been able to create. All garments are then finished with a process that raises the surface to give a textured appearance and then shower proofed. Garments are generously sized to allow for the clothing worn underneath. I just wanted to send a quick note to let you know that I received my sheepskin that I ordered this past week and I was overjoyed! It is far more than I had anticipated and I am so pleased with it... the quality, size, color, etc... everything is perfect! My baby is due in 4 weeks and now has a beautiful sheepskin to sleep on! I remember when I was young, my Mom's boss was from NZ and he brought a sheepskin back for my baby brother to sleep on. Now that I am going to be a mom ...I can't wait for my baby to have one!
